I'm not sure if you mean singing karaoke or touching myself, but either way, I mean, come on - lawyers are people, too! We sing! We touch!

And now that I hear myself singing, I really wish I hadn't saved a version where I'm SO quiet. I also wish I'd cut off the first minute or so, so that I could have gotten to the real MEAT of the song. Heh.

Heh heh.. meat.

I found a karaoke version of my song. Rock! So how does it handle the two minute thing? Does it just cut you off, or give you warning, or what?

It just cuts you off, dude. One second, you're singing, it's listening, the next second, the recorded voice is saying something to you about pushing 1 or 2 or 3 but you can't hear what the hell it's saying because you're still loudly singing about touching yourself with the phone held out in front of you and the speakers blasting at you.

Never fear. If you need to make it "repeat the options", just push 0.

I'm sorry - I'm going up tonight. I was filled with confusion last night over my choice. I had a moment or two of delusions of grandeur where I thought about doing California Love, but I couldn't decide whether to bust out the Dre or Tupac parts, and I felt it would be pushing it to try both. Plus, Chris refused to allow me to rap. Said it wouldn't be right.

But yours is all good, dammit! Now I actually have to make an effort!

(yeah, that "wait a day" thing was all Omar's idea. I don't know why he hates you so much, p.)

Because I came up with Chuy's Hate List and now he's all over it.

I just didn't want to look like a big tool like I did last year. I don't know if it's any good, but I do remember scaring half of the audience last time. I don't want to scare people in their offices.

But at one point I was looking at Carole King, a showtune from Chicago, and a Prince song. Oh, and I thought about an REM song, but I figured I still couldn't have won Chris' vote from you if I did that.

And in a horrible moment, I thought about "...Baby One More Time" or "Genie In A Bottle." I think there was some crack getting smoked in my house.

Oh, man. Look at this post. Can you guys tell that I'm completely exhausted this morning? Taxes. Get them done now, friends.

ysabelkid, if you're like me and trying to listen at work (sh!), it might be a firewall issue. I couldn't do Napster for the same reason.
damn firewall. Now I have to go buy a computer, just so I can listen.

It took me forever just to calm down cause the phone wouldn't record for more than 2 seconds.

It recorded something, but it wouldn't let me know what it was, so I
hope it was a decent entry... (gasp)

I was in full big band mode, and if anyone knows "Big Spender" from the movie/musical/broadway "Sweet Charity" well, yeah... that would be me.

If it recorded right, and sounds decent, it'll be up with the rest tomorrow.

Dear Gods, if I sound horrible, I hold no claim to the entry, and will from then on show no sign of even knowing what karaoke is.

I'll vouch for that. And I got into the habit of ending the recording by pressing any button, and then it would bring up the menu and I'd decide to re-record it ... but then the last time I hit the button at the same time that it cut me off, and I hit "1," and the next thing I knew I was hearing "Your message has been sent" and I was all, aahhhhhh! Because up until then, see, I was really just screwing around, and had no real intention of ever actually entering. But then, well, I didn't have a choice anymore.

Um ... I think I've had too much caffeine today.

Chuy loves me. That's just his way.

Sorry, back to karaoke...

I have one here at work. It suits most of my needs, and I always seem to find other things to spend my money on than a computer for home. My mommy and daddy just gave me their hand-me-down, though, so I don't *really* have to go buy one, just a monitor. And an ISP. And a place to put it in my house. And a chair to sit in while I play on it.

Dude, that girl who sang "I Touch Myself" is making me nervous. And Becky Barker is still making me nervous. I played her for my mom and she said she was good. Allison's just trying to boost our confidence about Becky Barker and her lungs. Yeah, so. Omar...Allison...looking forward to hearing your songs. And, as I've said in EVERY reply to this topic...I SUCK. I'm mortified. Can I enter again?

Dude! That's me, the touching myself girl, making you nervous! Excellent!

The sound quality sucks, though, and it's partly my fault for trying not to be all up in your face...it's hard to even tell where my voice begins and Divinyls' woman's (come on, somebody remembers her name, don't they?) ends.

But I'm glad to be making somebody nervous. I'm afraid that may be the extent of my glory from KaraokePhone...

glad I'm not making anyone nervous or anything

just mopping up the tears of my patheticness...yes, yes...

I wasn't that bad, but then again..I realise in the original song she does NOT draaag the 'you' before the chorus..ugh.

today would've been worse; I lost the thickness in my voice so it would've been screechier [in fact, I sang for fun today to my disc and I warbled and cracked like nobody's business!]..

I'd definitely think of doing rap next time [as inspired by allison's remark about the tupac and dre song; I used to love that song, yo!]; no need to actually sing..heh

My life resumed last month when we finally bought a PC for home. Now we just have to get the correct driver for the modem, and mayhap, I'll be able to listen from home. Before Friday, if possible, so I still have time to vote.

Well, Dusty Springfield ain't making anyone nervous either. Feeling just a slight twinge of rejection. It's like waiting to get picked last for kickball all over again, folks.

Maybe we all need to just start posting, "Dude, I'm so nervous because So-and-so is SO awesome" for each other. A little nudge for the old self-esteems!

ah okay! I forgot what it sounded like since I think I heard that on the first day, so I'll listen again.

heh heh. I'm in under my real name too [Amber]. doing the FF8 theme [final fantasy]. mom says I should've picked a more recognisable song. she suure rubs it in! ;)

and I agree, Pamie's was great. I liked the part where she says the cat came in..terrifying! haha

Man, Allison... you have such a great voice.

So does a lot of people entered in so far.

I'm not going to bitch about the quality of my song.

Yes, I am.

I blame it on the cordless phone and the fact that I did it in my work office.
