I know I'm not part of "the group" here, but I found that site before reading about in the forum (I'm a karaoke junkie - we're talking 2 gigs of files on my hard drive from Napster) and was planning on entering. You all don't even know. Allison's been talkin' smack over e-mail too, trying to intimidate me into not entering because she's afraid of a little competition. It won't work. She's a cat. A fraidy one. Our conclusion was that she's: a. in need of back-up singers and reverb and some other Perry Farrell toys b. something about a urinal cake that I don't remember c. invoking the spirit of karaoke patron St. Dong. Oh, people. I'm in. I just entered. Here's what's different from last year: now I know that you can listen to your entry before you send it. I didn't know that last year. I just hung up. This means that this year I got to have the executive decision. This means, sadly, none of you will hear my rendition of "When You're Good To Mama," since I felt it just wasn't strong enough to win with all of the competition this year. My entry? Gold, baby. Nah, I don't know. As I learned last year, the biggest smack talkers get smacked the hardest. But I think I accidentally entered twice. Okay so, I just went and downloaded Real Player so I could hear all you sillies belting out your show tunes (Omar, may I suggest for you perhaps "Luck Be A Lady" from Guys and Dolls?) and after trying very hard to avoid getting spammed repeatedly by real.com and it's products after the download, now it says it can't connect to the misinformer server. All that work for NOTHING! What, pray tell, do you all use to open these .ram files? IP: Logged |

wow, maaaynn...I'd do it, but the only song I can sing is Eyes On Me [the FF8 theme]. I might just sign up though...if I can find an instrumental of this. I got the soundtrack, but the one instrumental just sounds like it but I can't sing on top of it so scouring napster. if not, I'll be sure to vote for one of ya. last year I was too late to vote. okay, y'all. I found a karaoke thing to this song. eek!! I can suuure belt out the chorus though. do they only allow 2 minutes for each entry? cause this song is 5 minutes and the chorus doesn't even start till 2 minutes...heh heh. maybe I'd be saving some eardrums though if it just didn't get to that part... okay, I did it. is it bad if I sent it accidently when I messed up and called back again? ya see I pressed 1 instead of 2 and in the playing of it I said, "aww shit" erm...so I resent it and it was okay but my voice cracked at one part. for practicing, my mouth was pretty dry by the time I actually did it. we'll see. at least I sounded semi-okay. mine'll probably be up tomorrow, so watch out, yo! I just sang with no music [just lyrics in hand] to mom and she laughed at me and said I'd fit right in with the rest...she's a meany!! she should've heard me before I got the drainage out of my throat. now I'm at that awkward cracking voice, change tempo phase after too much hype..bleh. anyway, be sure to tell me what you think when it goes up..I sang Eyes on Me from the FF8 soundtrack. mom said I picked a hard song; I guess. Ooh, people, I just went and sang "I Touch Myself." After hearing myself sing about 3 or 4 times, and trashing each one as worse than the last, I finally got a version that didn't make me cringe, mostly because you can't hear me as well. Woo!
